After signing a Letter of Intent with the WORLDFACTORY International in 2022, the DWIH New York and University Alliance Ruhr were pleased to welcome a delegation from Bochum, Germany to discuss recent developments and trends in transatlantic innovation and science transfer.

The DWIH welcomed Ruhr Universität Bochum’s faculty, coaches, entrepreneurs and founders in person, following up after the successful collaboration over “Pathways to Funding in the United States and Germany”.

The aim of the delegation trip was to form a sustainable network of international cooperation partners, exchange best practices, generate new ideas, gain insights into spin-off trends of start-up hotspots and market knowledge for the participating startups. The goals of WORLDFACTORY International dovetail with those of the DWIH NY in so far as to establish an international start-up ecosystem through strategic cooperation and partnerships in North America which intends to increase international visibility while drawing in innovative entrepreneurs.

During the lunch talk Benedikt Brisch, Director DWIH NY and DAAD North America as well as Dr. Jan Lüdert, Head of Programs DWIH NY, discussed how to generate science and technology transfer hubs through targeted international science and industry cooperation and which is based in a science diplomacy framework.
